The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services for the community.

SASSA will be rendering expert services for instance new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency said it is alarmed regarding the higher range of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to your higher amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This can be due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no thoroughly functional office dedicated to service the area each day. The assistance point developed for intervention encounters a significant inflow of opportunity beneficiaries, that makes it difficult for the office to attend more info to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more sources to allow the servicing of all consumers and enhance use of Social Assistance services,” the agency said.

For more information, community members can call toll free during status sassa working days/hours on 0800 60 10 11 and WhatsApp on 082 046 8553. - SAnews.gov.za
